Conversations about generative AI usually start with the tool: which model, which feature, which integration. But an organization does not change because it adopts a model. It changes when a behaviour changes.
An intervention is a deliberate change in how decisions are made, services are delivered, or work is done. AI can mediate that change, but it does not produce it on its own.
This first note opens the journal with a simple idea: design the intervention, not the tool. The notes that follow will explore what that means in concrete services, decisions and human systems.
